Frequently Asked Questions

How much are notarization fees?

As of January 1, 2017, the maximum fee a California notary may charge per notarized signature was raised to $15.  That said, we offer discounts on these fees for first time customers and for customers who need to have multiple signatures notarized.  Call us for details.

Are there any other fees associated with your mobile notary services?

Yes.  We charge travel fees which are calculated at $1 per mile (round trip mileage) from 11000 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon, California to your location based on the mileage determined by Google maps.  In addition, if you require mobile notary services outside of our normal business hours a $10 surcharge will apply.

Can you tell me what kind of notarization I need?

It is illegal for a notary public to recommend a specific type of notarization for your needs.  Any notary who is not an attorney (we are not attorneys) and recommends a specific type of notarization is engaging in the unauthorized practice of law which is punishable by jail time, a fine, or both.

That said, if your document does not make it clear what type of notarization is required, we can show you the primary types of notarizations we perform and you can choose the type of notarization you need.  We recommend that if your document does not have pre-printed wording for the type of notarization required that you contact the party asking for the notarization to determine what type of notarization is required.

What identification is required to perform my notarization?

Typical primary identification required to perform a notarization includes an unexpired California drivers license, ID card, or United States Passport although expired versions of these documents are acceptable if they have been issued within the last five years.  Other types of identification issued within the last five years include:

  • Driver license or ID card issued by another state

  • Mexican or Canadian driver license issued by an authorized agency.

  • US Military identification card

  • Foreign passport if stamped by the Immigration and naturalization service.

Do you offer service guarantees?

Yes.  If you have a notarization rejected due to an error on our part, we will refund your notarized signature fees as well as any travel fees associated with your notarization.  In order to process your refund, we will require written proof that the notarization we performed was rejected.

For which cities will you provide mobile notary services?

We provide mobile notary service for the cities of San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, Sunol, Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette and Orinda.  Call us if you have mobile notary needs outside of these areas for travel fee estimates.

Can I come to you to have documents notarized?

Because we are primarily a mobile notary service and often on the road providing service to clients at their preferred location, we don't have a location staffed full-time to provide notary services.  However, we often meet clients at coffee shops, business centers, or other locations based on our client's preferences, so call us for more information.

Do you offer notary services for Santa Rita Jail inmates?

Yes, we will notarize signatures for incarcerated individuals.  However, due to the added administrative activity involved such as scheduling and security screening, an additional fee of $50 will apply to all appointments which must be completed at the jail.
